By Gary Collinge, ManagerLog Harvesting

The logging division is in slow motion, managing the fibre we have.  The lumber market has pushed cedar log prices up across the board.  We can't get too excited as the bulk of our cedar volume is heli wood.  All the major producers are tying up available helicopter time, so we have to wait our turn. Coulson Aircrane’s S61s may be available later in 2nd quarter but it is just conversation at this point.  We have a small S64 heli job coming up in Little Toquart.  The blocks have been fallen in a two pass system with the hope that an S61 will come in and clean up.  This should happen mid May if the weather allows Western Forest to complete their job on schedule.

Zolie Schafer and Ken Matthews are sending cruisers in every direction trying to find volume to fill the CFP licence.  We are getting the Toquart drainage thinned out, but they continue to search.

Cataract requires a final board meeting prior to starting the falling and yarding program.  There are a few job opportunities being considered to utilize some of our equipment, but margins are very tight.

The current pace will continue, at least until we can create some new prospects.

 Take Care, Work Safe.
