ere it is the end of summer.  It sure seemed to go by fast.  We wait all year for summer to come and then it is gone in a flash.

As far as lumber markets go, this summer was one of the worst ever and for that reason, it is good to see it end.

CML has started back on a shift and a half schedule to get caught up on custom cuts.  We will be running on this schedule for awhile.  Some will be working on jobs they haven’t done for a long time so we need to watch out for each other and ask questions or get help if you are not sure about something.

We have recently done a test cut of standard hemlock for Kermode Forest Products.  They were happy with the results and have booked a larger cut for October.

CML is getting recertified for FSC, so we will see the auditors on site later in October.  Having FSC will make it easier to sell our cedar products.

One of the regular comments I get from our custom cut customers is that they are impressed by how friendly and helpful everyone at CML is towards them.  This goes a long way in getting them back for future cuts and is a very positive reflection of all the employees at CML.

Remember - Safety has no quitting time.

Text Box: Think First ….then Lift Safely

Think before you lift, then bend at your knees, not at your waist.

Keep objects as close to your spine as possible and your back straight during the lift.

When in doubt, get help or use a lifting aid.

Avoid repeated twisting, bending, or excessive reaching when grabbing or carrying something or setting it down.
