Our current logging program is at a standstill. Delays on permits and approvals has us behind our schedule. This week we expect to have all permits required to complete 2009 falling for Virge and Cypre. The S64 Skycrane should be well into completing the R90 Rollingstone block.
It is my hope to be able to fly the Virge heli block while the crane is in the area. We will yard the Virge conventional and then head back to Cypre. Road building will finish in C6 at about the time we will get our falling permit. AM Excavating will have to hustle to get C5 completed in time for us.
For the fourth year in a row, that I can remember, we have been hit with the first storm of the season just before Halloween. In 2006 and 2007, storms resulted in log loss. We got lucky last year as we had 25,000m3 at anchor in Stewardson, with no losses. This year we had very little at risk, about 600m3 in Cypre. Christmas and snow can't be far away.
It is time to start winterizing all our equipment. For me, this is a reminder that we have a lot more equipment than what we are using these days. Maybe in 2010 we will get it all back into use –let’s hope.
