We made it through the first quarter at about 30 percent uptime in the harvesting side and 70 percent uptime in the lumber manufacturing facilities.
Our harvesting operations will be back to work in May up in Stewardson Inlet on TFL 54 and we will get some wood flowing to CML.
The aviation company has been flat out with three S-61s operating in Australia and one in BC as well as preparing for the 2009 fire season for the Martin Mars.
CAL teamed with ERA Helicopters out of the Gulf of Mexico and was awarded a S-61 helicopter contract for the United States Forest Service to be based in San Ynez California starting on June 11th. C-FCLM will be the aircraft of choice and will be teamed with a USFS rappel team of 15.
This was excellent news as we will have both the Martin Mars and the S-61 working very close with each other in the Los Angeles basin.
The Mars will have a new lead aircraft this year - a Sikorsky S-76 with thermal imaging technology on board. The aircraft will arrive here later in the month and we will feature the unique capabilities of this aircraft in our June edition.
