Easter already! and the first quarter of 2009 is done. Looking at the bright side, we are another quarter closer to the big recovery. Lately cedar sales have improved slightly and there is starting to be a lot more inquiries. Hopefully, this will translate into an improvement in markets.

We have started a program of improving the length of the logs going into the mill. We are already seeing an improvement in our decking runs with more long lengths.

With spring finally here it is a good time to review safety both on the job and at home.

On the job we need to be conscious of our surroundings at all times. We need to wear our required personal protective equipment and always need to think before we act. It isn’t any different around our homes. We need to be conscious of our surroundings when we are doing yard work especially with power tools. Use personal protective equipment when operating law mowers, chain saws, hedge trimmers etc. Always think before we act. Think about the consequences of climbing an unstable ladder or spraying herbicides and pesticides around your yards. All accident are preventable if we just take an extra few seconds to do the job safety
