All the excitement in the Coulson Group is in aviation these days. The aviation industry has opportunities somewhere in the world, year round. I wish this were true about the forest industry. We continue to coordinate log volume in accordance with what we are able to sell. There is currently no log market for cedar logs, and a very small, competitive lumber market. This week’s rumor is the cedar lumber market has hit the bottom! We will see.

The logging division is set to supply Coulson Manufacturing with all the cedar they can sell. We are able to produce required volumes with very small crews. Yard or hoechuck full time and haul half time, is adequate. The mill is currently cutting 50%cedar and 50% hemlock. The mill purchases their hemlock from local sources.

We will continue at this level for the foreseeable future. Road building will continue in the Kennedy flats, as long as there is a flicker of hope the cedar market is coming back.

There is a Stewardson plan as well. We can react very quickly to any opportunities. A recent trip into camp revealed some winter storm damages, some minor roof repairs and water system leaks, nothing major. We are as ready as we can be.

The May Queen was tied up in Toquart six years ago as temporary shelter from weather.
In February a tug towed the May Queen to her final destination.

All that remains - an environmentally clean serene portage view.
