Another year is drawing to a close, and Coulson Group of Companies has continued to move along in its normal progressive, innovative style.
I feel in many ways Year 2008 was a year of maturation. We no longer react to the curve balls that come our way in business. We have found a comfort level that is proactive in spirit and intent. While the world economy is reeling from the impact of poor credit practices and defaulting loans, we, at Coulson’s, are well positioned to wait it out and choose our partners and business initiatives based on what will be best for the Group overall, and not what is best to generate immediate cash flow.
The Administrative and Accounting Teams have settled into the new premises and are now also working proactively. We are better positioned for our annual Deloitte audit than at any time in my memory. We have started some in-house cross-training between jobs, taking advantage of the slowdown on the Forestry side as an opportunity to build some strength within our employee base.
The management of Coulson Group could not accomplish what it does without the support of our employees, service providers, financing partners, insurance underwriters, lawyers, etc. This year honourable mention goes out to:
Maureen Crockett, CAIB, Benfield Corporate Risk – Aviation and Aerospace
Steve Hicks, Account Manager, Aon Reed Stenhouse
Johann Van Rensburg, Branch Manager, BDC
Geoff Butt, Account Manager, Commercial Banking, HSBC Bank of Canada
Ron Forster, RBC Royal Bank, Corporate Financial Services
Jim Dehoney, Dehoney & Associates
David Selley, Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP
Peter Parsons, Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP
Frank Potts, Lindsay Kenney LLP
Jim Lane, Parker, Bush & Lane, P.C.
In these times of financial instability, it is wonderful to know that we have such consummate professionals working for and with us.
It is my sincere hope that this Christmas brings you closer to family and friends.
Merry Christmas to all, and may Year 2009 bring you love, joy, prosperity and happiness, Susan
