Chopline and Piling

For the first time in three years we have started up the chopline at Millworks. This will start as a trial run which includes 200,000 fbm of green 2x6 and 80,000 fbm of KD hemlock to chop into fingerjoint blocks and clear lengths. With the bevel line down, it has come along at an opportune time to keep about half the crew busy for three weeks. These products will be shipped to Australia and the States and used in products like windows and hot tubs.

Some of these positions are new to the crew members and will require dealing with different types of equipment than what there is on the bevel line. It is important to not only to review the position's JSB but also to ask the supervisor if you are uncertain about a task.
