ELECTRICAL SAFETY - 7200 VOLTS

Working in close proximity to overhead power lines can lead to disasterous results if care is not taken.  All operations need to be aware of the potential hazards of overhead power lines at their worksites.  Crews are required to conduct prework meetings to make workers aware of the location and voltage of all power lines in the area.

In the picture, top left, the driver was attempting to throw a cinch line over the load when he caught the powerline by mistake.  He said the tires began to fry within seconds.  He was very lucky.  Incidents such as this are avoidable when proper proceedures are followed.
