The month of May has been a busy month in all divisions.
Planning has been ongoing in Clayoquot Sound for the last year with our new joint venture company, Mamook-Coulson, and we are ready to start harvesting. In this issue Ken Matthews has done an extensive history on the ups and downs in Clayoquot Sound over the years as this was one of the most interesting battlegrounds for protesters in Canadian history.
A new chapter is about to take place with the five First Nations partnering with us as owners of the tenure harvesting within their traditional territories.
A key part of moving forward with change will be working with the Environmental groups and having them support us in the marketplace to build a long term strategy for our wood products.
We are seeing coastal forestry companies struggle around us as they try and find an identity and a culture that works given the difficult environment in the marketplace that we are all facing. So, we must focus on our strengths as a company - our people,our partners and our community.
At Aircrane, it is nice to have the helicopters back and out working. The Mars testing was completed successfully, and C-FLYL is now on contract with the BC Forest Service
