It must be spring…..; not only have we had a stretch of weather that makes it feel that way, but both Coulson Aircrane and Coulson Flying Tankers are busy readying for the summer and fire seasons as well.

Pictured below is S61 - C-FBSF. She passed through the hanger last week as she converted for the fishing lodge season in the Queen Charlotte Islands once again. No major work required on this stop-over. Just a few component changes and minor touch-ups. The interior has held up very well in both the Vancouver-Victoria corridor and the lodges. The executive feel is always a hit as passengers and customers board this aircraft.

C-FCLM has returned from Australia and is getting a fresh paintjob while waiting for heli-logging to catch up from the harsh (snowy) winter. Target date to start flying wood in Stewardson is May 15th.

C-FMAY is currently on a vessel and scheduled to arrive in L.A. next week. We will truck her back to Port Alberni, assemble and ready her for fire and mining freight work. Looks like we have secured about 5 weeks of hauling in Salluit and Resolute Bay.

Coulson Flying Tanklers. The Tanker Base Crews have been putting finishing touches on Hawaii Mars, and by time of reading she should be floating on Sproat Lake. Training and testing will continue for the better part of a week. May 14th and 15th are targeted for drop test evaluations at the Port Alberni airport for the US Tanker Board.

Do you know which is the Hawaii and which is the Philippine?
The Hawaii Mars has the Red Tail.
The Philippine Mars has the White Tail.

C-FMAY in Victoria, Australia making water drops with the new Coulson Belly Fireboss 4000 Tank . Picture top right is S61-MAY hovering to fill the tank. In 45 seconds MAY can load 1,000 US gallons of water.
This tank retracts for landings and empty in flight use. Coulson engineering crew can remove and replace the tank in less than 1 hour.

Pictured below, C-FMAY was being dismantled at Victoria, Australia to be shipped home. MAY is presently in a cargo container en route to Los Angeles. From LA she will board Coulson's flat bed truck for the trip back to Port Alberni. MAY will be reassembled at Aircrane and then off to Stewardson for some heli logging.
