The roller coaster ride the forest industry has been going through for the last several years has again gone into a nose dive. Coulson has quietly been maneuvering through the rough times with success. We will be challenged again to be creative as the log market is soft in all species and fiber values drop. We work a very sensitive balance between our logs and lumber sales which have already been impacted by the late winter.

We are currently working a stump to dump contract for Tseshaht which has bought us time while we wait for the snow to melt. It is time to finish Cataract production which will take us until late June. There is 8000m3 of heli which will supplement the remaining 12,000m3 of conventional.

TFL 54 will begin on the Kennedy flats with a hoechuck, load and haul program. Stewardson will have some delays due both to snow and unavailable equipment.

My hunt for a barge to transport logs from Stewardson to the mill fell on its face, momentarily. Road building and falling is shaping up well as we are back building roads in the areas we were snowed out of.

Now if the market holds, and the mill sells some lumber, we are ready to hit it hard. S61 C-FCLM is home from Australia so for a short time we will have 2 helicopters logging.
