We are coming up on the one year anniversary since Aircrane purchased the
Martin Mars, and we have now bid both aircraft in four different Wildfire
markets - Canada, US, Greece and Australia. We have secured a 90 day contract
for one aircraft with the BC Government and are working with the US Air Tanker
Board to get the Mars approved in the US to fight fires on Federal land. This will
allow the Mars to fight fires on both State and Federal lands throughout the US
giving us access to a substantial market.
Manufacturing has continued to operate despite the extended winter weather by purchasing logs on the open market from Dane Forest Products and Probans.
CFP has done an excellent job battling the snow; however, we have lost harvesting time... but the end of winter is close!
We are starting to focus all harvesting operations in Tree Farm License 54 which we purchased last year with our partner, MaMook. This is where we will be getting our fiber from over the next few years for CML, and we are pleased with the progress we are making with our First Nation partners in building a long term viable business.
I am concerned about the rise in medical incidents in 2008. Safety needs to be YOUR number one priority.
