Message from the CEO

Message from the CEOThe Coastal Forest Industry is still on strike and going into week 11.

We are hoping both sides will call a "timeout" and a "cooling off period" so people can get back to work as the bad weather is coming and log production will be slow.

This poor log harvesting production will affect the lumber manufacturing facilities and has already had a negative impact on the pulp and paper mills.

Hopefully, this dispute will get the time it needs for reflection as this will significantly help the families of smaller communities that work in the Coastal Forest Industry.

CAL is preparing 2 S-61s C-FCLM and C-FMAY for the upcoming fire season down in Australia as well as 2 Bell 212s. The Sikorskys will be operating within Victoria State and the 2 Bell 212s will operate in Southern Australia. The aircraft will be shipped out of Los Angeles in early November for start of contract December 5th. On January 1st, 2008, we start a new contract in Brazil with C-FXEC so this will be an extremely busy winter.

As the weather is now getting poorer please watch out for your fellow workers as safety is our number one priority.
