CML is on hemlock utility after a long run of cedar. We are planning to be on hemlock for about 3 weeks, before going back to cedar.
The gaming centre is getting close to completion. The wood supplied by CML looks spectacular. This is truly a one of a kind facility like nothing else in either Port Alberni or on Vancouver Island.
So far, the steelworke's strike hasn't had much effect on CML/CSL. We have managed to keep the planer on 2 shifts; CML production and cleaning up Somass wood. The only thing really missing is the weekend cant shift for Somass. We are trying other methods of filling in weekends, such as cutting hemlock or chipping.
Safety is still the Number One priority at CML. So please help each other. There is a lot of traffic in our yard. Hi Vis vests must be worn. Everyone walking around must to remain diligent.
Until next month, Please work safe and pay safe.
