Corporate Profile

Coulson Aircrane Ltd. is a privately owned family company based in Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada. The company has been in the aviation business for over 25 years and operates a fleet of light and heavy lift helicopters. The operations are fully supported in the field with qualified maintenance engineers and a supply of spare parts to maintain maximum operational availability. The company's aviation business includes helicopter maintenance facilities located in Port Alberni, B.C. on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

The company's operations include helicopter logging, forest fire suppression, power-line construction, airliner passenger transport and many other industrial heavy lift operations. The environmental program for Logging and Fire Suppression field operations is registered and certified by Quality Management Institute to the ISO14001:2004 EMS Standard. The helicopter services are provided in isolated locations across the province of British Columbia and within the other provinces Canada and within the United States, the States of Alaska, California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Nevada and recently in Victoria State, Australia and Azerbaijan. The fleet is geared for mobility and self-sufficiency and is supported by mobile fuel tankers and aircraft maintenance service vehicles staffed with qualified engineers. These helicopter aviation services are provided to clients on a "turn key" basis.

Coulson Aircrane (U.S.A.), Inc. was founded in 1990 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Coulson Aircrane Ltd. to provide aircraft personnel for Coulson helicopters and fixed wing aircraft operating under contract in the U.S. From 1990 to 1993 Coulson Aircrane (U.S.A.) provided the personnel for extensive heli-logging operations in Alaska. In the succeeding years, Coulson Aircrane (U.S.A.) pilots and flight engineers have supported Coulson Aircrane Ltd. aircraft in logging and other external-lift operations in the Western U.S., often involving fire suppression operations. Personnel include supervisors, pilots and flight engineers working on a rotational basis.

Coulson Aviation PTY Ltd was created in 2010 to support Coulson Aircrane's long term operations and commitment to its Australian Customers. It was setup as a wholly owned subsidiary of Coulson Aircrane Ltd. to provide aircraft personnel for Coulson rotary and fixed wing aircraft operating under contract in Australia for Firefighting and OffShore Oil applications.

Aviation Safety

Coulson has flown over 108,000 safe flight hours in 25 years of operation. Coulson is committed to a safe work environment, throughout all its operations. To ensure the safety of all passengers familiarity sessions will be arranged for all crews that will be assigned or dispatched with the helicopter. All safety features, safety zones:

• Full cabin briefing during crew deployments or repositioning
• Full operational briefing prior to any none full landing crew let offs
  ( toe ins)
• Full operational briefing and mock-ups prior winching operations and any other training as required for re-currency
• Safety briefing/training to fire crews in and around helicopters
• Safety briefing/training for crews operating in the vicinity of heavy lift operations

Safe Aerial operations in remote mountainous situations are enhanced with use of twin turbine power helicopters such as the S61. As well, the use of long lines and grapples significantly reduce the risks related to rotor wash or vortices when operating in restricted treed mountainous terrain.

Each of the COULSON helicopters are equipped, maintained and operated in strict compliance with all applicable law and regulations.
